La Leche League New Zealand

Mom Loves Best

Your midwife, lactation consultant, or a La Leche League leader can provide further breastfeeding help.

In New Zealand you can find Lactation Consultants through their webpage. If you find a Lactation Consultant this way you may have to pay for this service, however they will most likely come to your home, and should be able to see you relatively quickly. Your local birthing centre or hospital may have a Lactation Concultant you can see. This service is often free for young babies, but it may be provided through a weekly breastfeeding clinic, so you may have to wait a few days to be seen.

La Leche League leaders are trained breastfeeding councillers who can be contacted by phone, email, or by attending monthly meetings.
